    Hey,

So I'm currently jailbroke, but it's toasting my battery faster and I might have to send it for repairs in a bit! I heard that you had to do a DFU restore, otherwise Apple has software they can use to check if it's ever been jailbroken?

How do I do this? I need to get rid of ALL traces period.

    Thanks guys,
    Brendan

I've never had a problem taking any iPhone into Apple; I even took one in that was JB but the Cydia icon was not visible

If you want to be sure you are safe you need to DFU restore and then fill the hard drive up multiple times. That way you are rewriting the hard drive and the information that was there (that was supposedly deleted) gets written over and makes it harder to find. Personally I think it is overkill but if you want to be safe that is your best option.

Alright, how do I get into DFU? Sorry, I haven't had to do this since the iPod Touch 2G!

I'm planning on just doing the DFU restore, then syncing the phone with everything I got in my iTunes and hopefully that'll deal with it.
