1.1.3 is pissing me off now. I really like the new apps, but i just cant stand all of this not working. 1.1.1 jailbreak went so well, why is this getting so complicated? Basically at this point, all of the iphone apps crash, and installer crashes when you try to add sources. Mail doesnt work either, its part of the iphone apps that crash. I use my iPod as a PDA everyday and i cant go without having mail. Not only all this but iTunes still as a problem with it. iTunes always has an error and my screen that asks me to buy the apps always comes up. I wish 1.1.3 would work with the jaiblreak, but it doesnt look like anyone has figured out how to get installer and the apps working fine. I had it working great till yesterday, something got messed up now everything just keeps freezing. Oh well.

Yea, everything is kinda glitchy right now...

I suggest 1.1.2 instead... its really really easy to get to it too.

I played with 1.1.3 for a while and couldnt stand the problems and went back to 1.1.2. I will wait for the real 1.1.3 JB and leave the soft break alone.

From what I understand it isn't. We all have been using the soft mod and there is supposed to be an actual mod out in a month or so.

The end result should be the same. All the issues with permissions and the default home directory being /var/mobile and not /var/root, and apps running as user mobile and not root will still be there when the "hard" jailbreak is released.

These issues are not going away. That said, you don't need to be on the bleeding edge - by the time the hard JB is released all this crap will be sorted out and things should be a lot cleaner.

Right now, a soft 1.1.3 JB is running the exact bits (the important ones, anyway) that a "hard" 1.1.3 JB should end up running.

So, go with 1.1.2 and be happy, or jump into 1.1.3 and bring your toolbox
