hey guys, i need a little help. to make a long story short, my trackpad on my macbook has broken for the third time and is due to be shipped back tomorrow so apple can replace the unit. Whilst i was backing up using time machine i accidentally pulled out the USB wire for my external drive thinking it was my mouse. now my external is not being recognised in the mac so now i cant back it up.

my external drive is made by western digital and is showing up in the system profiler under USB when its connected but nowhere else.

if it helps i'm running OSX 10.6.4

any help that could be posted in time would help. cheers

    Will

Try using Disk Utility to figure out the problem.
