The new samsung phone apparently lets you navigate/scroll websites using an accelerometer.

So after cleaning the crap out of my pants after seeing this, I thought, how can this be done for iPhone/iPot? Could it be done by modding MobileSafari alone or would you have to rewrite the entire browser. I dont have the skills to make it happen but it would be a dope ass patch for anyone with the skills to do it to cook up. Fo real.

That'd drive me nuts - what if I wanted to tilt it so I didn't get the glare in my eyes - oops! half way down the page... and the thing uses some cameras to detect movement - lame... Gizmodo even said it wasn't working in a darkened room.

I think that's a bad idea, unless you can turn it off. I can see how *sometimes* it can come in handy, but it would be annoying to keep it level all the time, etc. It would be a pain if you were lying down or something...

Plus, this can be made an app on the iPod Touch/iPhone anyway, you just have to code in accelerometer support for scrolling. It may be tricky, but do-able.

you need decent lighting to use that, presumably because the camera is used to detect movement. And if I know anything abut cameras, they need light to see, AND BATTERIES TO EAT>

That is a great idea on paper, but I wouldn't want it.
