Okay, so i have the bug where if i play back a video i jsut recorded through the built in speakers, i recieve a ticking sound.

Is this a viable excuse to take it to the apple store? Or will a firmware update fix this?

Not a viable excuse. ALL iPods have it, unless you're really lucky (I was not lucky). It's due to a flaw in the positioning of the microphone and the WiFi Chip. If you turn off WiFi the "ticking" will go away.

I read that some people say that iOS4.2 fixed the clicking. The warranty is 90 days, so yeah, im waiting out for the firmware update.

Yay, I want 4.2 so badly. I just got my ipod today, it has the clicking issue but luckily nothing else

    I also want battery percentage and I heard that's a 4.2 feature.
