I've been very interested in the HD Sennheiser 555 headphones. Anyone have these because i have a few questions:

-How does the sound sound. I like bright music to make cymbals sound fuller.
-The headphones have an open design. Does much sound leak to the point where everyone around me can hear them?
-Would the sound quality be much of an improvement over HD 202's?

    Thank you kindly.

i have the HD595's which are very similar to the HD555's

    i have to say

    1. the sound is great and audio reproduction is about 90-something percent, soundstage is huge(sennheiser duh)

    2. sound leaks, but not that much

    3. yes, the HD202's are 30 bucks lol

I think I read a thread comparing the HD555's and Audio Technica ATH-A700's, and it did mention that the HD555's leaked sound. >.<

The HD555's are open. How the hell do you NOT leak sound?

better sound quality then the 202's by leaps and bounds... I'd rather have open headphones when I'm walking around so i can hear cars and other things that can kill me so i can avoid death... the 205's are OK to since you can fold one earphone... but get the 555's its a great buy... if you don't play anything embarrassing i don't think you have to worry about the leak...

Open headphones are not supposed to avoid leaking sound.

My brother owns HD555's so I have demo'd them. They do leak a whole bunch of sound so it's not recommended to use them outside your home. Otherwise, they will leak sound and undesirable sound will come in. If you are the person who likes bass, don't get these. They have almost no bass at all. The bass that is there though, is nice and tight. These headphones are a giant leap from the 202's.
