This is a discussion thread for the "This is What a 7.85-inch iPad Would Look Like" story posted on the front page.
Who would bother. This is bs imo, just like how everyone got hyped about the 4S and 5 launching closely – if not alongside each other.
designers might not have to redesign apps, if apple created a 7.85" display with resolution 1024 x 768 (resolution of ipad 2) then no vector magic necessary. also, why do blogs always claim "Apple is said to be testing so-and-so in its labs" well obviously, they're probably also testing table sized ipads, stylus pens and apple houses, but none of them are ever going to be released. ever heard of R&D? companies make out-outlandish prototypes all the time, they have to - just to see
iPod Touch with a 3.5 inch screen, smaller iPad-looking device with a 7.85 inch screen, the iPad with a 9.7 inch screen. What's the point? I don't think there needs to be something in between the smallest and largest, that's just dumb IMO.
