this is really weird...

    so i restored by ipod with the custom firmware (i had jailbroken it before but i messed it up by screwing around with the categories app) and so yeah i restored it with the custom firmware (and i KNOW cydia was installed on it via pwnage tool) and when i booted my ipod...cydia wasn't there. and it was jailbroken before. help? thanks

    try again using a diffrent custom firmware

    Or, in the worse case, restore to the original firmware and basically start again from scratch.

    I think you have to re-jailbreak.

    I know there is a way to get Installer through Cydia, but I don't know if this works the other way around.

    Just checked it, and yes cydia can be found on installer.
    Also are you sure you selected the right custom firmware?
