    So please help.

I'm getting the (1604) error when I try to complete step 4 of cyw00d's jailbreak helper.
The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1604).

Now before you say restore the iPod, I tried. Same error.

At this point I'm pretty indifferent as to whether I'll continue with the jailbreak or just attempt to restore it, so help any way you can on either or both please.

Also, right afterwards, iTunes no longer recognizes my device until I retry the process to get the same result.

By the way, you have to be 100% sure your on DFU mode.

    Here's how.

    Screen should be black.
    Press home for 5 seconds.
Keep holding home and press power/wake button for 10 seconds.
Now let go of power/wake and keep holding home for 15 seconds. It should remain black but you should be able to restore.

Also, if I do this step, will I lose my stuff or is it going to keep my stuff on my comp?

No all your stuff will still stay on your computer.

lol, thx. I thought that the thread's topic would be pretty obvious... An issue that an idiot would have called a brick, lol.

Also please sticky the link he gave me, I feel it needs to be up there; I didn't find it without his link...

Well then I'm off to sleep while my iPod resets.

It didn't work, I think this is where I went wrong:

Am I supposed to "Set up as a new iPod"? or "Restore from backup of "[My iPod]"?
In the second case, I don't have the option to upgrade the ISPW first.
