My iPod Touch 2G screen is black. I know that it's on because when I try plugging it into the wall charger, it makes the little noise that it usually makes, and when I try plugging it into my computer, it gets recognized by iTunes and syncs my music and whatnot. I have no idea what is going on. It's not jailbroken or anything, just on the normal 2.2.1 firmware, or whatever the latest one is. Is there anything else I can do to fix this before having to restore it?

that happens sometimes - try doing a hard reset by holding the home and power buttons untill the apple logo appears on your screen. then your ipod will be fine. but sont freak out if it takes a long time to start up when doing that, thats just how it goes.

This same type of thing happened to me, except when I did the hard reset it took over 20 minutes!

After it finally booted, it worked perfect again though.
