Does anybody know how to create a new partition on my Mac osx drive? The only way I can find to do it will wipe out my whole drive. Any ideas?

Are you on Mac OS X Leopard? If you are, use Disk Utility, and click the little "+" at the bottom. Or use Boot Camp Assistant.

Disk Utility in Leopard has live partitioning so that your drive won't get wiped when you partition it.
