Hey all, i am thinking of getting a ipod touch. I have no idea about it at all. i am fairly advanced with PSP hacking, if that helps.

what i would like: hacking, free games, more features? (idk, maybe a certain version has more features)

And also could you tell me the difference between old itouch (version?) and the new one (version?)

and also is it worth it to get 16gb or even 32gb rather then the 8gb? i do like having alot of things on my ipod.. but maybe the games or apps arent very big?

    thanks

yes i want to deffinatly jailbreak it. is there any different apps or games or mods that one version (old/new) doesnt have?

    please inform me!

or is there a new version coming out that i should wait for?

16GB is the way to go (unless you have an extremely large library or have a lot of movies, then 32GB). For the generation, go with the 2G. The differences are:

    -2G has speakers
    -2G has volume buttons
    -2G has a faster processor
-2G can only be tethered or semi-tethered jailbroken
-2G can be downgraded to 2.1.1.
    -2G is better looking IMO

-1G has a piezo instead of speakers
    -1G has no volume buttons
-1G can be jailbroken easily with no tethering
-1G can be downgraded to 1.1.1.

Thanks, that was helpful. may i ask what tethering/thered is? and why is 1.1.1 better/different from 2.1.1?

    thanks a bunch!

1.1.1 is the old version of jailbreaking full of alot of customazation and features. installer rules that version. but in 2.0+ you can get appstore apps and all that crap.min that version cydia rules

thanks man, so 1.1 isnt THAT much better? you get the apps and free games on either right?

and what did you mean when you said tethered, teathering?

I am deffinatly leaning towards 2.1 now.

Tethered means if you jailbreak it, you cannot boot you ipod . you have to do a series of commands on your computer
