    Hi,
I have a 3G iPod touch, and as I like being able to turn it off and on without running blackra1n on my computer to get it out of restore mode, I find myself faced with a problem: What's the most effective way to install winterboard themes without jailbreaking my ipod?

There is no possible way without jailbreaking.

At the time of this writing, there is no (and has never been) any way to install themes without being jailbroken.

If this was possible, most people will stop jailbreaking. I, in the other hand, use apps like SBsettings and I SSH into my iPod a lot to change stuff up in themes.

You could restore from a backup that had been jailbroken before, but it's still jailbroken. Hopefully Apple will add themes in for 4.0

NO!!! If Apple does that, none of our jailbroken iPods/iPhones will be unique anymore.

    And your point is...

You can still have them be unique. It just takes creativity on your part.
