    Hello, i'm Albert
i found a way to open .ipsw files
i dont know if anyone know that but u can open it
    with the freeware tool: 7Zip
Just google it and download it
than install and rightclick on the ipse file
    now 7zip and open
    that's it
now you can see the files which are in the .ipsw-File
but i think we need a way to open the dmg file in the ipsw file too
so i hope it helpes the developers

dmg is a disk image. You can mount them on a mac. You may have to convert it to windows (iso). but I think if you are on windows you can use daemon tools to mount it.

i guess you were one of the people who didnt read that a .ipsw is just a renamed .zip file.

Step 1) Download the free trial of TransMac for Windows
Step 2) Download vfdecrypt for Windows
Step 3) Find the encryption key for the specific firmware's encryption
Step 4) Rename restore file from .ipsw to .zip
    Step 5) Extract said file.
Step 6) Use vfdecrypt and the key you've found to decrypt the largest .dmg file you extracted.
Step 7) Open the decrypted .dmg file with TransMac
