Don't like the new Metro start menu style, I prefer the old one :D Also a lot more CPU power is probably needed for the metro style.

Not at all. Windows 8 uses a lot less power than Windows 7 did. It runs a lot better on my laptop than windows 7 does. Not saying windows 7 ran like sh*t though because it was smooth. Windows 8 just made it a lot smoother and faster.

After using the previews (and currently a copy of RTM via DreamSpark) of Windows 8 most of the year, I find it doesn't need more CPU power; it takes a lot less, in fact. I even tested on a PC that my dad made specifically to run Windows XP (4GB RAM, 250GB HDD, et al), and it ran just as smooth as my laptop which came with Windows 7. As a whole, the OS breathes life back into devices that might have been retired. (Unlike a certain fruit company that only keeps the most minimal hardware compatibility with their software updates. ;) Not that I don't enjoy my iPad 2 nor iPod touch, because I thoroughly enjoy them.)
    Exactly right.

I thought it was obvious that it uses a lot less power just by how it looks...

Anyway, I think Metro looks beautiful. It's different from the Windows we use, yes, but it looks more colourful and adds life to it. Aero wasn't really my thing, and I despised Windows 7...I like how this version of Windows, you can switch between the two different UI's, Metro & Classic.

I am liking it, but I can't see oldies like my dad liking it in the least bit.

My mum loves it and she's turning 40 this year. My dad loves it too and he's turning 56 this year, I believe.

As a matter of fact, they love it almost because of all the reasons I love it. Like father (and mother), like son.
