this is getting annoying.. Seeing people frequently asl "Will Android work on iPhone 3Gs " or Will openiboot work on iPod touch 2G "... The answers are like right there AND some even ask in the same thread before they even view the posts. Well Look, This is how it is as of now:

    OpeniBoot for the Following Devices:

    iPhone 2G
    YES.

    iPhone 3G
    YES.

    iPhone 3Gs
NO. / Port in Progress. ( Older 3Gs's still have the 24kpwn exploit that was found in iPod touch 2G, but newer 3Gs's have no bootrom exploit at all. a Port is in progress for older 3Gs's )

    iPod touch 1G
YES. Its even available here with a tutorial.

    iPod touch 2G
Port in Progress. ( By Jaywalker and TheUnleet. ) Note: iPod touch 2G's bought after September 2009 that have MC As the first two letters in the model WILL NOT work with the OpeniBoot the two are working on. The First iPod touch 2G has a bootrom exploit, but the Late 2009 Models [ MC] Have a Fixed bootrom and, therefore, will not work with the MC Models.

    iPod touch 3G
NO. We do not have a Bootrom exploit yet.

Next Gen iPhones or iPod touches
If Jesus was a programmer he still wouldnt be able to find a bootrom exploit. After the 3Gs and the ipt3G, our best hopes are userland exploits.

    iPad
NO. it can be done, but it would be a harder port... Plus [as far as I Know] No One has found a bootrom exploit. nor is anyone working on it, as of now..

Android is available for all devices that currently have OpeniBoot availble.

And of course, you have thank all these devs, especially PlanetBeing.

And With this information, hopefully some of these repeat questions will not continuously appear.

The exploits are known, the dev team etc are just waiting till the iPhone 4G release (and iPhone OS 4.0) to make sure Apple doesn't patch anything.

I knew it. No it won't unless someone finds a bootrom exploit. And stop asking when, because nobody knows that. You can port any OS that works on top of Linux(Windows doesn't)

True, But that's why I said we don't have an exploit yet, because it hasn't been released to the any of these devs to use.

This is helpful for all the people who asked 'Is there Android for my iPhone/iPod' I hope there are less stupid questions now.
