So here's what we know about this:

    1. Only affects iPod touch 2G's
    2. No iPod batch correlation (Weeks 42, 45, 46 have been affected, yet others in these weeks have not been affected)
    3. Redsn0w does not work
    4. Most likely a hardware issue
    5. No known solution so far
    6. Apple is willing to replace the iPod for free (For me anyway)

If anyone has any more to add to this list so we can figure out the problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Lmfao, did I hit a sore spot? I'm telling everyone that I got my iPod replaced because it's the helpful thing to do. The senior rep I talked to contacted the software engineers that actually coded iOS. This is a hardware problem. Please don't say anything before you know my side of the story. Kthnxbai

how can it be a hardware problem, if the software is faulty?

I have a 2nd Generation 8GB MC Model iPod touch. Does my device also fall under this category. I haven't really experienced a "Recovery Mode Loop," but whenever I try to restore my iPod on to firmware 3.1.3 on a Windows computer with iTunes 9.2 installed on it, I keep getting an error 3014. I have tried putting it in Recovery Mode and DFU Mode, but I keep getting such errors. Is this by chance Apple's mistake? (I am jailbroken on Spirit.)

We've had more experience than you on this problem. It is currently UNFIXABLE.
