I was just about to sell my white early 2008 model, but I might hold onto it for a while now just to see. Thing still runs perfectly fine, even after I took the 4gb upgrade out (sold to my roommate because he needed it more than I did since I have an iMac with 16gb) and put it down to 2gb.

RIP though Macbook, you were awesome. I think I had maybe 1 freezeup in the entire 3 years, and no other complaints using you 24/7 for weeks at a time.

I doubt they will get rid of the Pros, and only sell airs and iMacs. The Pros are alot more heavy-duty IMO.

It was quiet because Apple didn't make a big announcement....

And the Air is better at that price point. If anyone needed anything bigger than that they could go for the Pro, which is what they would do anyways in the same situation with the MacBook.

The MacBook felt cheap IMO, plus it had extremely old components. The AIrs look amazing now and are completely updated.

So true. LOL. Everyone has been reporting it.

I 100% agree. The MBA now has better specs than the old MB, better case, etc. The only problem is SSD space and CD drive which can be fixed with external hard drive and optical drive. I always said that the MBA would be a great laptop after this update.

It no longer made sense to buy an macbook, it was really underpowered for the price, at this length in the game.

When the last update was made, the macbook was not that different from the 13in macbook pro. except for the style, the backlite keyboard and like 2 more gigs of RAM, it was virtually the same for $200 more.

Now that apple got the slim version to be able to run like it, and the iPad taking up the middle ground laptop. It made sense for it to stop.

MBA is horrible, your paying that much for a couple pounds less but your sacrificing massive performance and utility with that 1 usb port.

Compared to other laptops in that range, MBA does poorly. Plus its not like its worth it just because of the operating system because windows has so much to choose from and there are a lot of windows software that is legit.

To be honest, I always thought the white ones looked cheap I like the aluminum ones way better. Just my opinion.
