the iphone could not be restored an unknown error occurred (1604)

    Guys help i was updating my iphone last night and it froze then now when i try restoring it comes up with the above error. I have attempted loads of trouble shooting stuff including removing itunes reboots , the lot

    So may hours trying to fix this and i end up back at square 1

    HELP

    Enter DFU mode and then restore.

    I have tried a million times get through most of the restore but wehn itunes is "prepareing the iphone for restore" the apple symbol pops up on the phones and iphones freezes with eventally the spinning wheel appearing and the error code appearing on itunes

    any word?

    I'm having the same issue with my ipod touch, only in addition the screen is totally black and I see nothing but I am able to get it into dfu recovery mode. Still receive the 1604 error

    make sure you have itunes updated all the way and make shure when you are in dfu mode there is nothing on the screen

    Also, Make sure you have Pwned iTunes.

    But DFU will probably fix this.

    i got that, i just exited out of itunes, then went back in, and added youtube activation fix in winpwn and it worked like a charm

    When I put it into DFU mode I go into iTunes then it does all this junk, the screen goes white, and it says connect to iTunes. Is this DFU mode?
