I heard that Nullriver completely handed over the development of installer to the RiP Dev team because they have an app in the app store and they thought it best not to develop unofficial 3rd party apps as well. On the RiP Dev blog they have been posting updates about the progress of installer 4.0. However Nullriver are also the developers of summerboard but there is no information about summerboard on the RiP Dev's blog and the information on the apptapp website (http://www.apptapp.com/summerboard) is very old (it talks about firmware 1.1.1). So my question is: Has the RiP Dev team taken over the development of summerboard, is somebody else developing summerboard or is it not being rewritten for 2.0 at all.

WHY is everyone moving to 2.0! stop it
    i feel so alone
every time i refresh installer, the new apps and updates get less and less
im reluctant to update because were gonna have to re-do and re-port every single goddam app for 2.0, and i have a whole bunch of awesome sh*t on my 1.1.4
im not updating until installer/cydia offers all the awesome 2.0 apps for free
    otherwise im staying at 1.1.4
the only apps that tempt me is aqua forest, enigmo and a couple others
does anyone else feel the same way?

Not really... Soon there will be Installer 4.0 and once everything is ported, well then you'll have 2.0 and jailbreak. It will be a new revolution.

will they have appstore apps on installer! =D
    that would be awesome
and i would totally upgrade then
but if they dont, then it'll just be a whole bunch of work just to get what we ALREADY HAD again, only on a new firmware which is almost worthless (appstore, new 2.0 features)

In other words, you're only interested in anything that's free, you don't think the developers deserve anything for their work. I get it.

    honestly
    i do like free stuff
    but i also donate
i donated to touchpad, islsk, and spicy chicken (customize)

i think developers should be paid
but if i can get it for free i will
and if the apps awesome, ill donate anyway

Thats not going to happen at all. Developers want what they deserve so deal with it. App store is the way of the future for "fancy" developers but "normal" ones will probably go through installer. Don't expect amazing apps in installer when compared to appstore.

Customize is more amazing than any app on appstore.
