As we all know by now, it's less than a week before the SDK comes out, and with it come many new, unexplored possibilites. However, it almost certainly brings out a crossroads in the iPhone/iPod Touch jailbreaking community. What happens next? Does jailbreaking lose its luster and fall out of common usage? Will Apple find itself outclassed and overrun by the overwhelming features and users of jailbreaking? How about some opinions about this... I haven't seen too many threads about this, and it might be interesting to see opinions on the eve of the new firmware and iPhone release.

There are lots of threads and do you even know what an SDK is?

Ok, so you know we have had the SDK, actually lots of versions, for a long time?

But does it need to be? Can't we get the same things from the AppStore?

We'll all find out soon enough

God, you make it sound like September 11th. Jailbreak won't go away cause there are still some people who want it. Even if there is no jailbreak for 2.0 by the iPhone Dev team, some other guy will attempt to break it just for the heck of it.

Why do you say it's the eve of the 2.0 software release? I thought Apple had confirmed that it was gonna be released on the 11th. :/

Jailbreaking won't die, as there's prolly alot of people who still want to stay on jailbreak.

Its not really the point of jailbreaking, more the point of app compatibility, once you jailbreak, none of the J/B apps will even work..

To be honest, I think the future could be quite bleak...

Sadly, that's what the cold, dark reality could be...

I see all these people on the forums getting all excited over 2.0

Am I the only person who DOESN'T want the Appstore to arrive?
