I will now show you the easiest way to get a working iPod Touch with SummerBoard, Customize and iPhone Apps.

I've only tried this with a 1.1.4, 8GB iPod Touch so if it doesn't work with other iPods I'm sorry.

Here is how you do it:

    1. Connect your iPod

    2. Open iTunes

    3. Restore to 1.1.4

    4. Write in your iPods name.

    5. Wait for it to synchronize.

    6. Close iTunes.

    7. Download Ziphone 3.0, from Ziphone.org, and jailbreak your iPod Touch. (iTunes may open, but ignore it.) The process takes about one minute and you'll se a lot of words flashing on your iPod. Don't worry, Ziphone is doing it's job.

    8. Wait for it to restart and set your iPods "auto-locking" to "never". (Settings)

    9. Join your WiFi network. (Settings)

    10. Open Installer

    11. Install:

    Community Sources (Sources)

    - Refresh your sources.

    - Then install:

    BSD 2.0 termfix (Tweaks)
    SUID Lib Fix (Tweaks 1.1.3)
    Term vt100 (System)
    BossTool (Utilities)
    BossPrefs (Utilities)

    12. Respring.

    13. Open BossTools and relocate Ringtones, Applications and Fonts in the same order. (May take a while.)

    14. Download WinSCP.

    15. Install WinSCP.

    16. SSH into your iPod.

    - Open BossPrefs to see what your iPods IP is.

    - Make sure SSH is turned on.

Host Name: Your iPods IP. (Ex. 192.168.1.3)
User Name: "root" (without the quotes)
    Password: "alpine" (without the quotes)

    17. The first logins takes about 30 seconds. (Ignore the 15 second message.)

    18. Create an folder named "Media" in "/private/var/root/".

    19. Open terminal and write theese following commands: (Commands)

    - Press execute between each one.

    Code:
    cp -R /private/var/root/Media /private/var/mobile/
    Code:
    rm -r /private/var/root/Media
    Code:
    ln -s /private/var/mobile/Media /private/var/root/Media
    Code:
    cp -R /private/var/root/Library /private/var/mobile/
    Code:
    rm -r /private/var/root/Library
    Code:
    ln -s /private/var/mobile/Library /private/var/root/Library
    20. Close WinSCP

    21. Open Installer.

    22. Add the source "danimator.techdocrx.com/testrepo.xml" and wait for it to refresh.

    23. In the "Danimator's Repo"-folder install Customize and "Sticker Theme Pack" in the same order. (It will take some time)

    24. Respring.

    25. Open Customize (It will freeze and crash exactly 3 times).

    26. Make sure Customize works before continuing with this tutorial. If it doesn't work
you'll have to do everything all over.

    27. Open Installer.

    28. Add the source "ipodtouchmaster.com/files/repo.xml" and wait for Installer to
    refresh.

    29. Open the folder "iPhone 1.1.4 Appslications" in Installer and install the apps.

    30. Open the folder "System" in Installer and install SummerBoard.

    31. Respring.

    32. Open Installer.

    33. Open the folder "SummerBoard Fix" and install the fix. (It will probably say error,
    but just ignore it.)

    34. Restart your iPod.

    35. Try out a theme in SummerBoard.

    36. If it works, you'll have a jailbroken 1.1.4 with working Customize and SummerBoard.
    =)

    37. If it doesn't work, you probably have made a mistake somewhere and you'll have to try
    all this over again. =(

    38. If you want a working IM-program, just add the source "http://twenty08.com/installer" to installer and let it refresh.

    39. Scroll down to the folder Twenty08 and install "MobileChat". Awsome app.

Great stuff that you can get from Installer:

    1. Create iPod App. Make your music and video app become one app. (i hacks.us/index.xml) Ignore the space between i and hacks.

    2. The SummerBoard Theme "Sticker". (danimator.techdocrx.com/testrepo.xml)

    3. MxTube. Download videos from YouTube. (Community Sources)

    4. Categories. Organize all your apps easy. (Community Sources)

    5. Simplify Media Mobile. Listen to your computers music through WiFi. (Community Sources)

Hope this will work with your iPod.

Every time I try to download Customize from the installer it says that I need a different firmware.

You aren't downloading the correct Customize. ipodtouched.net/repo.xml Then add Modded Cusromize

For the other person if you have done everything correctly and have the right symlinks, all you need to do is change the permissions for the theme.

Too bad ZiPhone is used as much as it is--iLiberty+ is the superior and safer tool, and I suggest you guys read khaos' guide for jailbreaking. It's very well done.
