the blue screen terror

    i keep getting this blue screen for no reason anything i do the system crashes and goes to blue screen indicating that windows has shut down to prevent damage

    and on the bottom it says atapi.sys

    i have look on google and still no answer why this keeps poping up

    Seems to be a problem with a hard drive driver. Or if you have a virtual drive program on your computer that could be the reason.

    How can i know if i have a virtual drive
    And i try updating the driver for my HD
    But cant find it anywhere on hp site

    Is a seagate barracuda 5200

    Find the hard drive in device manager, right click and update driver software.

    Check if you hard drive has problems -

    start - my computer - right click hard drive - properties - tools tab - then check now under error checking
