Hey I am looking for a 3D program with a bit more functionality than sketchup. Like the ability to change curved faces... But it needs to be fairly easy to get to grips with, nothing crazy please

    Any ideas?

    Use Blender. It's Open Source.

What more could you ask for?

An industry standard maybe? You can learn Blender, but other modeling programs will be new to you.

Industry standard does not mean better.

Blender has even been used to make a movie. Please use the software because you consider it not 'industry standard'. Hard work has been put into the project and casting it aside as not 'industry standard' is a very bad habit indeed.

Or of course, you could pay $1,000 for the software.

Who said anything about Better or Worse? Me? No. I'm saying that Blender's UI is way different from the other programs out there. If it had a more Standard UI that was more close to what people use to LEARN, then it might do better out there.

When you say industry standard - how am I supposed to know you speak of the User Interface? Clarification people, clarification.

Here is a classic example to prove you wrong:

    Blender:

Also, at least Blender has good documentation vs. something you may have to pay AGAIN for a tutorial for.

Forbidden 403 on the Blender image. But you ask a 3-D modeler why they don't use Blender. I think this was mentioned before, one of them said that using blender was different from the other ones out there.

Blender has the most awful user interface for a 3D application I've ever used. It's also one of the hardest too.
