Hey everyone, just trying to figure out the status for the Apple TV jailbreak through all of this commotion. Does anyone on this forum have an Apple TV and would like to upgrade and try to jailbreak? I am getting one within a matter of days, and if needed, I will use mine, just wanted to know the status before I get it. Thanks!

I'm not sure, but I don't think redsn0w supports Apple TV's, and at the moment redsn0w is the only thing that jailbreaks 4.2. Also there isn't any point in jailbreaking yet, since you cant use apps on the apple tv, and cydia isn't ready yet.

Well actually, Plex is available, as well as some RSS reader.

Should we update to 4.2 or wait?

My guess is no. If the jb is tethered, which I'm pretty sure it is for the Apple TV, then I would stay away from it. I purchased one that I will be jailbreaking tomorrow. I may attempt to try both firmwares, if I have time before the family gets over for thanksgiving. But I would stay on 4.1.
