just wondering if anyone has made this application or anything like it?

Basically what you would do is type in your call back number and it would be saved in the application then you could import your contacts and type in the message and it would connect to a text message server through wifi and send your message to the number specified and put your number as the callback number. Seems easy enough

iPod Touch doesnt have a "number" for the callback.

Just email each other... really really easy to do...

I am talking about making an application that will store your callback number.

The reason I want it is because you have the keyboard to type out your messages and it can be way faster.

Apperently i didnt explain it well enough...

Here is how I picture it:
You open the application and it will look something like this:

Please Register or Log in to view images

Click settings and you will be able to save your phone number and various settings.
You then type in the person's name and it will look through your contacts for their phone number (or just enter the phone number)
Then you type the message and click send.
Then the program connects to some sms server and send the message...

I dont want to use the mail app since text messages dont get e-mailed... Frankly I dont care about e-mail I want to be able to read the text message then reply from my ipod, I wont get introuble for "texting" in class since I am using my ipod and I also wont be charged for the text message (Since my contract expired last week I am now charged by the message until I resign)

well why exactly do you want to do that? i know i you probably know this but you can email any cell phone, and it will send as a text message to the phone. here are some of those email addresses: "1234567890@mobile.att.net" or "1234567890@messaging.sprintpcs.com" and you can look up any more if you want
    hope that helps
