Whats the difference? What is red jolt considered?
The difference is that with just tethered, if you cut off your ipod, you MUST have a computer (or dongle now with the "run rs" jailbreak) to reboot your ipod. With semi-tethered, your ipod when it is cutoff will reboot into the typical iPod touch interface, you just want have any of your cydia apps and the such. (I'm pretty sure this is the only difference, if I'm wrong, somebody please correct me) Please Register or Log in to view images

Also with semi tethered you need patch for some of the cydia apps
DO NOT ATTEMPT THE SEMI TETHERED!!!! way too many bugs!! go tethered!
Works fine for me, the only downside is you cant have Boss Prefs, Custom Logos and SSH, cant modify the mobile installation.
dont bother with rslite get the "run rs" teathered jailbreak
I have Boss Prefs and SSH on a semi-tethered jailbroken iPod and they both work like a charm. Please Register or Log in to view images
yea same here i have both of those installed and it works perfectly. i have noticed no bugs my iPod works as good as ever. Plus being semi-tethered i have the advantage of being able to use my iPod if i ever accidently reboot away from my computer.
I reckon semi is better. If you've got the will to do a little bit of patching, it works the same as the tethered, just with an extra backup option if your ipod crashes.
