If and when Chronic, the Dev Team, and/or another devver pull an untethered jailbreak off, is it remotely possible to just be able to patch over to the UTd version from the Td jailbreak? I REALLY don't want to go through the process of completely jailbreaking it all over again...

It might be possible but if an untethered jailbreak is released it'll be very simple and you can just use a friendly, easy GUI like QuickPwn.

It should be possible, but don't count on it.

Yea I agree. An untethered version would probably be a simple 1-2-3 step procedure.

I don't think he's worried about how easy it will be -- he wants to know if the iPod will have to be restore & lose everything to have the Untethered Jailbreak

Well actually i would be interested in the part of not having to restore and lose everything again. Because i didnt knew that i was going to lose all the apps in my ipod when i did the jailbreak (i know all my apps, music, videos, etc are in itunes and i can resync them) problem is i cant resync all the stuff that was inside the programs, like to-do's, memos, lists, special databases, etc.

It would take me a day to restore all after a jailbreak, so i was wondering if it would be safer for me to not jailbreak now, and just wait for the final version of redsn0w/0wnboot?

P.S: I already did a jailbreak to my ipod 2g, but i can still restore it back.

yeah you would be able to either use a ramdisk or create an IPSW, a la PwnageTool / QuickPwn

That depends entirely on the nature of the exploit

For all we know, it may require you to rub your tummy and pat your head at the same time (I hope it does, that would be awesome!).

Seriously tho, it depends on what bug is to be exploited.
