    My Favorite right now:
    "BlueTool"
    "device -d /dev/cu.bluetooth -s 2400000"
    "device"
    "autobaud"
    (enable BlueTooth)

It's a shame iPhone OS doesn't come with "man". That would make things a lot easier.

    Basically for navigation:

ls - Print contents of current directory
cd <pathname> - Change to defined directory
    cd .. - move up a directory
cd ~ - move to home directory

    Other useful commands:
su - Elevate yourself to the root user
    killall SpringBoard - Respring
top - Displays highest memory consuming processes (note: you need to install top from cydia first)
halt - Shut down the system
    reboot - Reboot the system

Your BIA problem isn't due to permissions, its because you probably have MobileSubstrate installed. You need to get SBSettings if you don't have it already, then go to Power and select "Safe Mode". Then you can run BIA.

chmod - Can be used to change permissions.
