We all had our experiences with technology whether its with smartphones, computers or consoles. Share with me something stupid you did and you leaned your lesson on.

Mine is uninstall yourtube while its in the dock, it give you less icons and hath to restore from scratch.

Updated with a ipad baseband on my cousins iphone. Took 7 hours before I figured out how to fix it.

Setting partition as active with no OS, I had no repair disc :p. It couldn't boot, so I was without a computer for at least two days.

Wrote a program and without checking the code, ran the program. Since I was working with IO, the program loaded over 60,000 files onto my desktop. The computer wouldn't boot without freezing after that. I fixed the issue after booting into single user mode, but I learned to be more careful before running the build.

well, my laptop was freezing a lot and i still dont know what it was but i found that the administrator user still worked so i made another user and copied everything over then deleted the one that froze a lot. it worked perfectly except that i forgot to copy the save files to one of my favorite games. i had to deal with a 6 month old backup of it.

also, when i used to have a presario r3000 i was putting it back together and i accidentally put 2 screws into the wrong holes and when i opened it up there were 2 screws sticking out. i put them in the right holes and it still worked but the holes were still there. (later i sold it on ebay for 115 bucks)[IMG]

If you use them for long enough, you will know. If you get lucky with a few machines, it doesn't recover their image. They have been known for selling defected hardware.

The main problems I'v had with Dell are Multiple Failing HDD's and cheap laptop chargers.

My Dell Inspiron 6400 works just fine. In fact I typed this right on it.

    It's only 6 years old.

I've had two D600s, a dell inspiron 8000, two Optiplex 270s, and one optiplex 520.
The opltiplex machines lasted the longest even after surviving years in a machine plant that my uncle in law owns. I am using the 520 now, but the majority have failed because of avoidable problems. Even beyond my personal experience they have acknowledged their own problems and knowingly selling faulty transistors.
