This is in the wrong forum - it should really be in the 'mods' forum under the 2.0 subsection. Beyond that, is this an iPod Touch 1G or 2G? There are instructions on how to take both apart at iFixit.

Use google for 'ipod Touch disassembly' - it'll give you a link to the iFixIt Touch First Look which shows how they disassembled it. There's also a guide in the forums under hardware modifications - look for 'ipod touch back replacement' and there's a guide for popping off the back.

To be honest? It's hard - there's about 17 latches you need to undo on the back, and it's hell to get it all back together again.

damn...that's crazy!! I'm not gutsy enought to attempt that.

I just taped mine, and polished the back piece so that it looks aluminum instead of fake chrome
