It's fine is I just click restore in iTunes instead of a DFU restore, right? Since im taking it to the apple store.....

it was jailbroken, but i got dust under the screen and so I'm going to get it replaced.

    I should be Okay, right?

DFU will wipe almost all traces of being jailbroken where as a Shift click restore will not

but I'm sure they won't check if it was jailbroken or not? as long as im on a normal firmware....right? I don't think they'll be able to tell in the store, and im sure they'll just give me another ipod touch.. what do u think? I don't like DFU mode unless I HAVE to do it

I would do a DFU Restore and set up as new.

It doesn't matter, anyway, since you're getting it replaced.

Ye, I called them and they said they may just replace it
and my back was getting really hot too....and so my battery sucked

    lol

I want to get it replaced. the guy on the phone said the heat may have fried the battery, and he said most likely they'll give me a new unit

I'm going to just do a normal restore on friday, they cant really tell that it was jailbroken at the store, and they'll just give me a new one

I think so, but there may be problems with DFU Restoring.

But since you're running normal firmware I don't think it'd be a problem.

i hope they dont exchange it because dust under the screen should be your fault for living in a pig sty.
