Is there any way on 3.1 firmware to get a tab key on the keyboard? I tried ikeyex and it doesn't work. Looks like it doesn't work on 3.1 firmware. Any other suggestions? Navigating files through SSH is much easier with tab.

double tap on the up arrow.. (Shift key) and it should turn blue.. If doesnt work, go to settings > General > Keyboard. And Turn on "Enable Caps Lock". and try again with double tapping.. it should work now.

    :) Hope i helpped..

P.S. you dont need to be Jailbroken to have TAB key.. ^_^

i think he actually wants a tap key for when hes taking notes. to do that just space bar 3 times. thats the equivalent. dont got through all the work just to discover that i cant be done. but if you want tab to fill in fields like you can on a comp, then there are next and previous buttons that are just above the keyboard.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead but none of these seem to work in the terminal app. In the terminal app there isn't a prev/next button. Hitting the space bar just gives spaces.

Any other suggestions for a "tab" key in the terminal app?

Hahaha! I think none of us read your first post clearly! Sorry! What do you mean by a tab key though? Do you mean a command to enter in the last command?

iKeyEx 3.0 (BETA) For Firmwares 3.0+

    http://networkpx.googlecode.com/files/hk.kennytm.iKeyEx3-0.1-99j.deb

    http://networkpx.googlecode.com/files/hk.kennytm.5RowQWERTY-0.1-99h.deb

    1) Download the above files
    2) Place both files into /private/var/tmp
    3) On your iDevice, start MobileTerminal
    4) Type in

    su root [return]
alpine(or whatever your password may be) -[return]

    5) Type in the commands below:
    dpkg -i /tmp/hk.kennytm.iKeyEx3-0.1-99j.deb
    and
    dpkg -i /tmp/hk.kennytm.5RowQWERTY-0.1-99h.deb
    6) you may need to reboot/respring
    7) there will now be a new menu in the settings app "iKeyEx" go to this and then go to keyboards and add 5-Row QWERTY(i also chose to delete the english keyboard so i only have the one keyboard)
8)change whatever other settings you may like
