This is a discussion thread for the "T-Mobile Will Be "Selling Against the iPhone" Starting September 21st" story posted on the front page.
And this is why T-Mobile remains my favorite wireless company. In my experience, they've had the best customer service of any of the big four, cheaper rates, better plans. My only complaint is coverage, but they've been working to improve that. They have a vendetta against Apple for refusing to allow them to carry the iPhone, but that doesn't mean they turn away anybody that wants one. They actually opened new bring your own device plans specifically for the iPhone. I just really wish they'd get a bigger subscriber base, because it'd enable them to expand their 4g network faster. Plus, the girl in their commercials is hot.
As frustrating as this is to hear... I will still use T-Mobile and my unlocked iPhone. I was REALLY hoping that T-Mobile would take the high road and invest in the iPhone. I'm sure they know just like everyone else that if they were to get the iPhone, there would be LINES of people, just waiting to get their hands on it. Their customer support is awesome. Their prices beat Verizon, AT&T and Sprint and I have never had any problems with using my iPhone on their network (except for the EDGE). The only thorn in my side about this is the fact that if I want the new iPhone and not switch carriers, I have to buy it unlocked, which to be honest, is not my first choice and I'm sure my wife would think I am out of my damn mind. I've only had my iPhone 4 for a year so I can understand why she wouldnt want me to get a new phone when the one I have works perfectly fine. My response... "But...it's the new iPhone".
It's not T-Mobile causing the issue, they've begged Apple to allow them to carry it. Apple keeps turning their nose up, for reasons they have yet to reveal.
They are also about to run a ad: Bring your iPhone to T-mobile If they can pull in iPhone users by adding the HSPA+ 3g/4g signal then they can get customers without even paying Apple a cut. Pretty smart imo
Been running unlocked on T-Mobile ever since the geohot solder trick on the original. Then I ran with a software-unlocked 3G...Now I'm on an iPhone 4, factory unlocked, which in my opinion is far superior than worrying about the software unlocks. Even if they don't carry the phone, they support it. They know they have a large customer base on factory/software unlocked iPhones, and I definitely don't plan on switching soon. T-Mobile is just far more affordable and reliable.
