    After doing a Search, I have not found what I exactly want. You probably have been asked this before but

    1. With a Unlocked Iphone do you get better/Worse/Same reception with your T-Mobile provider.

    2. What type of Firmware did you see the best Reception/Battery from?

    3.Last, What is your iphone generation ( 2g/3g/3gs)

    1. Same

    2. Latest (3.0, or 2.2.1 for some)

    3. Don't have one, but know this from experience.

    Well, I would get 1-2 bars where I work and I get no Bars where I work. Is there some sort of app or some sort of tweak I could do to enchant the Radio or make it easier for it to connect to T-Mobile because it seems I am getting less reception then my T-Mobile g1

    What change did your iPhone go through to lose this connection?
    Locked -> Unlocked?
    2.2.1 -> 3.0?
    Un-Jailbroken -> Jailbroken?

    It came with 3.0

    It never went through a Change, I just bought it off of ebay a couple of days ago. I looked at the T-Mobile Coverage map of my work and it says I should have some bars. I would get some reception with the g1 but I am not getting the best with my iphone

    Iphone 2g 8g

    T-Mobile

    Iphone Firmware : 3.0

    Current State: Jailbroken and Unlocked with RedSn0w

    1. Do you think if I downgrade to 2.2.1 I would get better service?

    2. Does it matter if I would use some other Jailbroken or unlocking software to get different service? Other ways of getting service.

    you cant compare signal strength between phones. each phone is totally different.

    and to add to your question from the first post, reception is based on the edge/gsm network with the iphone, you will NOT get a 3g signal on tmobile.

    that might be why you have less reception.

    I understand I will not get 3g with a iphone unlocked on t-mobile. I figured out my problem it was all me. I would turn airplane mode on then when it first went to no-service i would retry but you have to let it set to connect. Even thou i would get only 1 bar.

    i have used a 1st gen 8 gb, 2nd gen 16 gb, and Iphone 3g all jailbroken and unlocked with tmobile's service and have had no problems with 1.x, 2.x, or 3.0 firmware.

    I have used ziphone, quickpwn, and now redsn0w/ultrasn0w with 3g. ziphone on a 1.14 firmware may have caused me an issue trying to ugprade and jailbreak 2.x firmware. quickpwn and redsn0w/ultrasn0w have worked great.

    There is speculation that 3.0 firmware is causing significant battery drain - I don't know if that's been proven.

    I can sure prove the new 3.0 firmware drains battery on my ipod but there are some many new features, I can't drop 3.0.
