I was looking at my newly jailbroken iPod Touch yesterday and I realized that the memory availiable had decreased to 6.76 gig (out of 8).

So, I was wondering if there was any way to delete parts of the OS to free up space, like getting rid of languages, etc. I know I could do this on my hacked PSP, and I couldn't find anything on it online.

Also, is there even enough files to delete that would free up noticable memory?

Perhaps you could SSH into your device, but I don't know if it affects the OS.
You could try to delete one language and see what happens, after a respring and reboot.

I think, there isn't that much. Languages is the only thing I can say.

7.1-6.76 = required for the jailbreak. You can't change that.

    This is normal.

To start out with, all devices that say 8GB, 16G, or 32GB aren't truly that amount.
8GB is really 7.1, as an example.

When you jailbreak, extra files are added to the OS's root partition (or something like that).
This takes up more space on the iPod. It is necessary for a jailbreak, and there is nothing to stop it.

So it's the 7.1 to start out with and then jailbroken files.

The iPhone/iPod is not a PSP.

I don't think there's a way to free up space. Sorry.
