    Hi all,

I couldn't see anything about this using the search. I have a 3G iPod that came with a Firewire cable, and was just wondering if there's anyway to get the touch to sync via firewire. It charges using the firewire cable but doesn't seem to get recognised by my PC or iTunes.

The reason I ask is I'm pretty sure this computer only has the old USB connectors so transfers seem really slow. Firewire would be much more efficient.

    Cheers,

FireWire doesn't work. I think the 3G iPod was the last gen that supported FW. It needs a special chip inside which Apple has left out since then. You can use the FW cable together with your old wall charger for the Touch, though.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeh it's handy to keep with my charger 24/7... like I said it's just annoying having slow transfer speeds especially when I sync heaps of video each day.
