    Hi Guys,

A bit of a problem here. I got my iPod in the post on Wednesday - it took all night to sync 1000 songs from PC to iPod. Why? Because I have a crappy computer, with no USB 2.0 ports and only USB 1.1

Unfortunately, I only have PCI Express ports on my computer. Buying an adapter to set up USB 2.0 from a PCI Express (not just PCI) slot is rather expensive, a little too expensive for a 15-year-old student who's just spent £230 of his £250 savings on a new gadget, haha

USB 1.1 is simply proving too slow and terrible to manage practically with.

My computer has FireWire, at least I THINK so anyway - there's a kind of half-opened port labeled "1394" round the back, but I've never had to use it so I'm not so sure what exactly it is.

Unfortunately at the moment I really can't afford anything too expensive to upgrade Hardware to USB 2.0 with...

Could anyone tell me if there are any workarounds or such that I could do? Thanks guys!

Uhm, I don't think there is anything you can do.
2G's don't charge or Sync with FireWire I think 1G's did but that's I rumor or something.
But yeah. My old computer had USB 1.1.
    Just be more patient. :/

Have you tried a Belkin Universal Speed Adapter.

Theyre like 30 dollars.. and it hooks onto where you would normally plug the USB into your computer.. then you plug the adapter into your computer.. i used to use it on my old computer.. dont know if theyre still around.... ??

You could manually add your music over wifi, (Winscp and opehssh). It would be much faster.
