I currently have a first gen iPod touch jailbrkoen to 2.2.1. All of my music, apps, pictures, etc is on a PC. The PC is on its way out and I now have a Mac laptop. I moved all my music and stuff onto my MacBook Pro, but my question is, can I start syncing my iPod with my Mac without messing anything up? I know the iPod has to be erased because it can only be synced to one computer at a time. Plus, I'm going from a PC to a Mac. My question is, will my jailbreak get messed up after syncing to a different computer. I do not want to re-jailbreak.

I thought I would ask here to see if anything has been in a situation like mine and if they did what I want to do, how did it go? did it work, mess anything up? complete failure?

    Let me know,
    Thanks,
    -Scott

That won't mess up your jailbreak. The only thing iTunes erases is your music and videos.
I think it will leave your apps, but i'm not sure. I did the same thing as you, new computer and all. I still haven't synced my iPod though, as i'm fine with the selection on it.

and why would I want to do that? that is just going to erase everything!

Don't you understand, I'm trying to SAVE everything and keep it the way it is, just with another computer.

There is an option in iTunes to download all installed apps from your ipod.

My first step would be to connect the ipod to the mac and transfer the applications. This should then leave you free to sync the ipod - this will probably erase everything and start you from scratch - but only with official apps and music.

All Jailbroken stuff should remain as is.

Before you do anything, take a backup on your PC that way if there is a problem, you can restore from backup...
