I am trying to figure out the sync thing. If I have everything I want on my iPod, then I unclick the sync in iTunes, the next time I plug the iPod in all my music and movies will be erased, is that correct? Does the sync have to be on to keep the iPod folders as they are.

Can I keep my iPod as is without having to sync when I plug into iTunes or are they always mirror images of each other?

    I am learning...slowly, but I am learning.

use manual sync on ur device. then u can sync music n video data like transferring files to a USB drive but within iTunes

Please Register or Log in to view images

... then u can even delete files on ur iTunes library but the data will be safe in iPod. this is only for music n video files the rest like photos n apps need syncing via Sync tabs even when enabling manual sync.
