I just got my new iPod as a gift and I'm trying to put some music on it. First I select all my songs (about 900) then I drag them to my iPod and I usually get errors like these but not all at once: "Attempting to connect to disk "Name of iPod" failed. The iPod cannot be synced."
"Attempting to copy to the disk "Name of iPod" failed. The iPod cannot be synced."
"The iPod "Name" cannot be synced. The disk could not be read or written to."
Can't remember but these two occasionally errors about my iPod timing out.

I have an iPod Touch 8GB 1.1.4 (with Software Upgrade)

I've tried many things from restarting my iPod or Computer to restoring it normally and in Recovery Mode. It started working the first time I went into Recovery Mode, but I think it's because I'm adding to many songs at once. I dunno. Any help or documents or anything is appreciated. Thanks. PLEASE REPLY! REALLY FRUSTRATING!!!

Well, try adding like 200 at once. That might work.

I've just tried adding an album with only 12 songs after I restored it in Recovery Mode and the sync errors came up.

How do you "drag songs to your iPod"?

You don't set sync to "automatic." Instead, you set it to "manual" and you can then drag and drop songs/vids/pics to your Ipod Touch as well as sync it to other computers and do the same.

I use to have this issue with my nano, not my touch though. I never really figured out how to solve it completely. For me, I just added songs to my iPod in small chunks and I stopped getting the error for the most part.

you should try making a play list a drag your song into it... the in your ipod option in the music tab select the playlist that u created ... this way u can add or delete songs even if ur ipod is not pluged and next time u plug it the changes will be made
