before i start, i admit i made a huge (and pretty stupid mistake)
and also, please dont flame me, just because of vista maximus, i just wanted to try it, since i hadnt done much theme-wise with my ipod for a while.

    I'm still on 1.1.4

so i was installing VM 4.1 and i had done about 2/3 of the steps, changing icons and backgrounds, changing the musicplayer skin, putting apps into categories and so on... so next i was doing the start bar dock mod thing, when i realized that i still had the buuf2 theme applied with summerboard, and it didnt look very vista like, so i went into summerboard and i took off the theme. immediately i got the dreaded spinning wheel of death. i was still able to SSH into my ipod, so i coppied the Applications folder, but im assuming that id need the Library folder as well for most of my apps to work. now i have SWOD on my bootscreen, and its stuck in a boot cycle. i cant even SSH any more.
i was wondering if there was any way i could stop this... or at least save my apps? im almost positive that there isnt, after hearing about other peoples problems... but any help would be good

Put your iPod touch into DFU Mode:

Step 1. Turn off your iPod.

Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.

Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.

Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.

You can't SSH into your iPod touch, so you can't.

If you do have the /Applications/ folder, you can restore and then add all the .app files that you had to the new one. Although, I'm not quite sure what the result would be as I've not done this before myself.

No, I'm pretty sure you can SSH when you have a SWOD.
    SSH in to it.
    Go to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app
Download the N45AP.plist file I will attack.
Drop it in to the iPod, and replace the existing. Now right click the new N45AP.plist file click properties and change the permissions/octal to 755.
Then reboot your iPod and it will most likely not have a SWOD and no restore needed.

The N45AP.plist file is zipped so extract it then drag it in.
