I'm about to upgrade from my iPhone 4 to the Galaxy Note. (It's been 2 years already?! >.<) I was wondering if anyone knew if these tweaks were available for Android, or something similar. 1) Something like BiteSMS so I can text from anywhere. 2) Something like Winterboard to theme icons and the lockscreen. 3) Not a tweak, but I really need a navigation app. I bought Navigon for iOS, and was wondering if there was something like it for Android, maybe cheaper too? Last thing I know the Note is a huge phone, but that's exactly what I want in a phone.
1) there's a sh*tload of apps that can do it. GoSMS is my personal favorite, it's also got a theme engine (anything made by the GO Team always has a theme engine). 2) yes, there's millions of ways it can be done. You can use something like GoLocker, but in my experiences it's been laggy, though it's given good Lockscreens. You also have WidgetLocker, which gives you custom Lockscreens which you can design to your liking. You also have straight out lockscreen replacements (the what you see is what you get method), like WP7 Lock. 3) Google Navigation, a part of Google Maps. It's free, and it has never let me down. Just hope you don't get caught in the middle of a 7 way intersection.
1) GoSMS 2) You can use Launchers to change icons & you can either use WidgetLocker or MiLocker for lockscreen, both very good. 3) Google Navigation, like GazaIan said, is the best. I moved to Android, and trust me, I never looked back.
Why should he? If youre going to suggest something different, you need a reason. Otherwise you're not helping.
Get MIUI ROM. In-App texting (better than BiteSMS), iOS-like interface with widgets and tons of customization (you can customize everything...Winterboard on steroids with widgets).
