I ready something in one of wyndwarrior's theme-in-progress threads about modding the Photo app so that you could change your springboard wallpaper without a respring. Is there any way I could get a hold of this mod? If yes, is it in Cydia? Regardless of yes or no to previous question, is it Winterboard activated? (Yes, I realize all of that phrasing was entirely unnecessary

I know you can use BossPaper, that changes the wallpaper on your springboard without respringing. Sorry if that didn't help or answer your question.

User wallpaper sets the wallpaper to the same thing as the lockscreen background. So in theory it should work, but you would have the same background twice.

It's not really much of a hassle to respring. I think the answer would just be patience.

Install this deb with mobile terminal. Now when you go to set a picture as a wallpaper, press the "i" in the top right to set it as your springboard wallpaper. The left "i" is for SMS backround. Also, if you want to keep your custom icon text color/ transparency on your springboard do not upgrade in cydia.

    P.S. No respring

So am guessing this won't work for fw3.0?

Works with all fw versions. Just happens that this deb is version 2.2.1

If you use Winterboard and select use Lockscreen wallpaper, you can change it without respringing just as you would change the Lockscreen one.
