First install bsd subsystem and openssh from installer app. After doing this ssh into your iPod. After doing so navigate to:

    ~/system/library/coreservices/ and open systemversion.plist.

Then scroll to the bottom and you will see:

    <Key>productversion</key>
    <spring>1.1.3</spring>

Once you see this all you have to do is change 1.1.3 to 1.1.2 so it looks like this:

    <Key>productversion</key
    <spring>1.1.2</spring>

Reboot your iPod and then go to installer and install summerboard and customize as you normally would.

i would vote on waiting for an updated version of summerboard too. mashing work-arounds and addons into the springboard is more likely to cause trouble down the line (i.e. when the SDK comes out, you'll have more cleaning up to do).

If you wanted to install Summerboard without getting that version error from installer, just download it and copy the SMBPrefs and the included files onto your iPod through SSH. Personally, im going to hold out until the updated version is rolled out. I dont want to have to redo my iPod a month down the line because I was stupid and impatient.

Question..with the version.plist trick, does that allow the use of SMBPrefs' "Wallpaper" feature?

Either way i'm holding out til Summerboard makes its way to the masses.

SUmmerboard is not yet functional with 1.1.3.

There are rumours of an update this week, as yet, unconfirmed.

Please use the search, this is covered so many times.
