I have summerboard on 1.1.4 with all patches and everything, but for some reason the only themes that work on it are the default and Halo3 themes. Should I just restore the ipod?

    No, don't restore your Touch.
It may mean that the permissions on the themes that don't work are not set to 755.
I hope you did your research around the site and know what I mean with the permissions thing.
I, too, have the same problems and i'll confirm whether my theory is right.

    Theory status: CORRECT!
So yeah, all the themes that are not working for you are not set to "644" or "666" or some other number.
All themes, and pretty much everything else from installer must be in "755."
If you have anymore question, please let me kno.
    I hope I helped man.

SSH into your ipod and select the summerboard folder and set the permissions

Did you set them recursively of set the group when you did the permisiions on the theme so everything in the folder would be changed?

The folder that contains the theme must be @ 755.
The background has to be in 755.
    The dock... yea, 755.
As for the icons, just set the folder they're in to... you guessed it; 755.
    Hope that helps
