This is directly out of my 1.1.4 jailbreak sticky here: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54152

I decided to post it also as a separate thread because most people would not look there.

    FIX: SummerBoard Not Changing Theme
    1. Run These Commands In A Terminal Of Your Choice:
    Code:
    chmod +x /Applications/SMBPrefs.app/SMBPrefs
    Code:
    chmod +s /Applications/SMBPrefs.app/SMBPrefs
    2. Restart Your iPhone/iPod Touch

If This Made SummerBoard Work, Rep Is Always Appreciated

You can enter these commands from the iPod itself, just install Term-vt100.

yes it is, whats not working for you, the username and pass?

i my jailbreak guide (Theres a sticky in the 1.1.4 jailbreak section) you will see a thing that says WinSCP, follow the links, and under that you will see how to find terminal in WinSCP, follow that also

yeah, username and pass. weird thing is when i type root i see it show up on the screen. but when i type alpine for the password nothing shows up on the screen where the word should appear, just the letters pop up on the keyboard showing me that i did hit the key.

still, i try entering the pass and hitting return but i get 'login incorrect'

well the password doesn't appear for security reasons, like when you type a password on a website usually it comes out like this ****** but alpine is the pass and when you hit enter it should work, if not just follow the WinSCP guide on my 1.1.4 Jailbreak Tutorial in the 1.1.4 Jailbreak section, it's stickied, you can't miss it
