    Did you SSH in and remove the app manually?

    Summerboard 3.0 is bringing tears to my eyes.

    Thinking it was an upgrade from my SB3.01b, downloading SB3.0 = "Package download failed". Tried all night last night and this morning.
    Thought I would manually delete SB3.01b via SSH, iPod Touch bricked, stuck at Apple icon. Had to restore and re-jailbreak.
    Tried downloading SB3.0 again, same error message "Package download failed".
    Now I have a virgin 1.1.2 jailbroken iPod Touch and no SB. Can't even find SB3.01b anywhere.

    Any suggestions?

    How did you uninstall it manually? Just removing directories or reading the 'uninstall' part of the script and following every step (including the plistedit command)?

    That doesn't answer the question... How did you do it?

    In the installation script you have those two parts:
    Code:
    		<key>update</key>
    		<array>
    			<array>
    				<string>CopyPath</string>
    				<string>SummerBoard.framework</string>
    				<string>/Library/Frameworks/SummerBoard.framework</string>
    			</array>
    			<array>
    				<string>CopyPath</string>
    				<string>SMBPrefs.app</string>
    				<string>/Applications/SMBPrefs.app</string>
    			</array>
    			<array>
    				<string>CopyPath</string>
    				<string>Themes</string>
    				<string>/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes</string>
    			</array>
    		</array>

    and
    Code:
    	<key>uninstall</key>
    		<array>
    			<array>
    				<string>Confirm</string>
    				<string>Uninstalling SummerBoard may make launching third party applications impossible. Are you sure you wish to continue?</string>
    				<string>Yes</string>
    				<string>No</string>
    			</array>
    			<array>
    				<string>RemovePath</string>
    				<string>/Applications/SMBPrefs.app</string>
    			</array>
    			<array>
    				<string>Exec</string>
    				<string>/Library/MobileEnhancer/libexec/plistedit /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist delete /Library/Frameworks/SummerBoard.framework/SummerBoard.dylib</string>
    			</array>
    			<array>
    				<string>RemovePath</string>
    				<string>/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes/Default</string>
    				<string>/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes/SummerBoard</string>
    				<string>/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes/Panther</string>
    				<string>/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes/Leopard</string>
    				<string>/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes/Louie Mantia</string>
    			</array>
    			<array>
    				<string>Notice</string>
    				<string>You must restart your iPhone for the changes to take effect!</string>
    			</array>
    		</array>

    They clearly show what you must do to uninstall manually, it's not simply removing directories. It reconfigures the system to stop launching a daemon, if you don't remove that part you may get into trouble.

    i uninstalled via SSH by deleting installer.app and put a earlier version of installer.app thinking that summerboard would be gone from the the list of things I downloaded but it was still there my question is if there is any way to delete summerboard from the list of things I installed so I can reinstall and it won't let me uninstall so thats out of the question to fix my problem

    edoras,

    If by that you mean "will they fix the Dim feature stability?" it's not likely just yet.

    if you mean "will turning Dim feature OFF solve instability issues," yes, it does.

    OP, can you find the New 3.0b1-1 Beta and install that cleanly? Afterward you may be able to uninstall 3.0beta-1 and reinstall 3.0.. that is, if you're uncomfortable trying to follow those installer script paths to delete everything manually.. just a thought.
