I have a MBP 2011 which has 4GBs and I'm going for 8. On Amazon I have a few choices but I need advice on the differences.

My top choice, says PC3-10600. What is the significance of the 10600? I seen another for a few bucks cheaper saying PC3-8500.
After the fact and looking for links of the my other choices the prices are now about leveled out. So brand-wise, what should I get? I'm not after the cheapest of the cheapest but good quality and a decent price.

Also, I've read conflicting information online. Suggesting that such an upgrade will be day/night to what it is now and I've also read that it doesn't make a difference at all.

I didn't ever realize my free ram was this low, so most likely it will make an improvement right? Suggesting my computer's uptime is 10 days, what can I do to free old processes that should have already ended?

Is that screenie right after a fresh boot or after running for a while?

Running for a while. Like I said, uptime of 10 days. (I know I should restart more often, but this is typical. I would likely reboot in the next few days according to my routine)

Do you find the performance bad? As I understand it, OS X puts more stuff in RAM so stuff loads quicker as it's already loaded in memory (don't remember where I heard this but it would make sense, unless you have something memory leaking really bad).

I upgraded to 8GB of RAM for my Macbook Pro and I'm glad I did. When I had 4GB of RAM, I would only have 1-2GB free with nothing open, but with 8GB, I usually have 4-5GB with nothing open. It doesn't make your computer faster, just an overall smoother process.

By the way, I got my RAM from Corsair.

I don't think I have anything leaking memory but I'm onto get some ram. Would you, @DarkAura17 let me know which one you bought? I considered Corsair also.

If you wanted, you could get 16GB of RAM from newegg or crucial for like $200 or less.
