So as many of you know, I got a new iTouch (last gen) a couple of weeks ago. Last night, I went into an Apple store asking if I could return it and get the new gen one. They said yes. Sadly, I didn't leave with a new 2nd gen iTouch. Apparently, I need teh reciept and since this was a gift, I don't have the reciept or the credit card. The Genius told me that I would need to call it. Now, I did that already and told him. He simply told me to explain the situation and ask for a supervisor and they would send me a new 2nd gen without any type of penalty. IN FACT, they actually give me $70 or so for the difference in price. ^.^ Of course, this is the truth, so don't do this unless this sort of thing happened to you. Don't abuse the excellent customer service.

O yea. Sorry for double posting, but do the old cases fit for the new iTouches?

I'm confused. You took it back and they gave you a 2G?

Apple has a 30 day return policy I believe. The eforcity silicone case on ebay fits but leaves the spot where the old antenna was open. Incipio makes a case for the second gen, check their website.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I have a 1st gen still. I just need to call Apple and they return my 1st gen and they'll send me a 2nd gen. And they're refunding the difference in price.

What's not to get? They'll take my 1st gen 8 gig iPod back. That cost $299. Since I'm trading it in for a 2nd gen iPod, that costs $229.
    $299-$229=$70.
